What can I expect
When you come in for your appointment, Dr. Sally TJ will first apply a topical numbing cream. Once the area is numb, the RF Microneedling wand is placed against your skin, allowing the RF energy and needles to penetrate your skin. The number of passes and penetration to the skin will vary by patient and affect the results seen.
You may experience a stinging or mild burning sensation and pinpoint bleeding at the site of treatment. This is normal, so we recommend refraining from drinking any alcohol, or taking any blood thinners such as Aspirin prior to your appointment.
Everyone is different depending on the area, condition and severity of condition, but our patients can typically expect about 45 minutes per treatment and 4-6 weeks for the elastin and collagen to build up after treatment.
How do I prepare for the RF Microneedling treatment
Prior to your treatment, please ensure that the area of is clean and shaven. After treatment, you will need to continue to protect the area with SPF 50 sunblock, as well as use post-treatment supplies such as a gentle skin cleanser and moisturizer as directed by Dr. Sally TJ.
You may also use ice packs every two hours for 20 minutes at a time for the first 24 hours after treatment as directed for swelling and discomfort. Do not scratch or scrub the treated area. The next day you can wear makeup and resume normal activities.

Then, a thin layer of topical gel is applied, and the pen is gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.
